Irn-Bru — Phenomenal!

Red Cap = Memorial Day?

I'm just sitting down to watch the Yankees play the Texas Rangers and I notice they're all wearing red caps — apparently for Memorial Day — and I mean ALL of them. Players, coaches, and umpires. Now, I've seen Yankees caps in every color under the sun, but never on their own heads. It's always the "midnight blue" (almost black) cap they wear in the game. And maybe it's just me, but it's weird. If they played in March would they be expected to wear green caps on St. Patrick's Day? So what will they all be wearing on July 4th and Labor Day?

Sweaty, hairy, sensitive?

Have any of you seen the deodorant commercials aimed at men that say "so what is your pit type? Sweaty, hairy, sensitive?"

Ewwwww, ewwwww, ewwww! WYF is with that? I was eating dinner and I (gross out moment here) think I actually threw up a little in my throat when that came on. Seriously, do we need THAT much information?

Canes go on to the conference finals!

Yes, I admit it, I predicted the Canes would lose the series against the Bruins. But come on, Boston was the best in the conference. How could i possibly predict this outcome? As much as last night's Pens/Caps game seven was a snoozer this was a nail-biting-till-the-end-bouncing-out-of-your-seat exciting marathon of a game. Of course, there have been longer games in play-off history, this one only went to 18:46 of the first overtime period, but it FELT like it was a five hour game.
I've had trouble sleeping over the last several months and especially these last few weeks (with work so crazy), and all I wanted to do tonight was to see Roddy's team win so I could sleep peacefully. I doubt I'll get to bed before two after that finish! Man, my heart is still racing — meanwhile Chris is quietly snoring away.
So how'd I do on my predix? 3 out of 4 (game count not included) and the team I really wanted in it is in! Go Canes!

Pens-Caps game seven

This was supposed to be the Ali-Fraser match, the best match-up of the playoffs. Until last night's game the series was pretty exciting. I ask though, where the hell did Alexander the Great go? Non-existent in game 7. Yes, he had that goal — but come on, who couldn't have gotten that? The goalie was 12 feet away from the net. Ovie did this last year too. He folded when the odds were against his team. It's not all him, I'm not saying that — the young goalie, the coach for keeping him in, the lack of passion or, at least, awareness that it was do or die from the rest of the team. Two of the three little piggie's houses didn't collapse that easily.
You gotta hand it to the Pens too. They played their behinds off. And I also credit them for not piling it on even more. It could easily have been a much higher score on their end. Mr. Crosby just added that number six on as payback for the cut on his lip. After all, he can be a big baby sometimes.
Disappointing for sure. Chris and I settled in for a nice meal thinking it would be a great game — in the end I almost wished I liked basketball enough to watch that instead. Seriously you say? No, not at all.
