Red Cap = Memorial Day?

I'm just sitting down to watch the Yankees play the Texas Rangers and I notice they're all wearing red caps — apparently for Memorial Day — and I mean ALL of them. Players, coaches, and umpires. Now, I've seen Yankees caps in every color under the sun, but never on their own heads. It's always the "midnight blue" (almost black) cap they wear in the game. And maybe it's just me, but it's weird. If they played in March would they be expected to wear green caps on St. Patrick's Day? So what will they all be wearing on July 4th and Labor Day?

I hate it when teams where caps with colors not originally linked to them. So a red Yankees cap sounds terrible to me.

I also really dislike seeing Dodgers hats in anything but Dodger Blue yet I see countless red Dodger hats (I hope they're not wearing red caps today).

Saw a few hoop jerseys on TV at BMO Field yesterday. Bet they were crying yesterday! :)

It's a break in tradition — one that seems to me is all about the almighty dollar. let's see how many fools run out and buy their team's hats in red just to show they are patriotic. maybe it was designed by obama? as part of the stimulus plan?

dodgers in red is just as horrible looking as the yanks in red caps. i never knew who was up to bat!
