That's right, I'm a slacker. Falling down on the job again. I should be shot. Or, maybe I just need a shot — or several. Hey, it's been a rough year folks, made rougher by the fact that I won't be seeing some of you, as is usually the case, this holiday season (except maybe through Skype that is).
But I'm not here to bemoan the year I've had. Instead, I'm here to share the highlights — after all, there's always a silver lining right? Attached to this post you will (hopefully) see a video. I've compiled some of my favorite photos — not necessarily my best photos, but ones that remind me of good times. A few might even be blurry, I'm sure that has nothing to do with me being blurry at the time. No, that surely could not be the reason.
If you looked through my collection of photos from 2009, it would probably take you a good two days — that's what it took me to whittle it down to what you'll see here. I literally take tens of thousands of pictures every year. I once asked a friend to guess how many photos I had taken while on a week-long vacation. Their answer? 200. And he was serious. Seriously wrong! I took over 4000. Another friend broke it down for me this way: If I never slept, nor ate, no took a single break, I'd have averaged a shot every 2.8 minutes during my eight day trip. To top that, I went on a shorter trip two months later (five days total) and took about the same amount.
Okay, so I'm crazy, but imagine what it cost me when I was still using film! I think I single-handedly put that guy on River Road in Fair Lawn, N.J. out of business when I went digital. Anyway, so when I look back on the photos I've taken, especially of (my nieces) Jordyn and Mackensey, it reminds me of all the wonderful things in my life — the people I love, the places I've been and the fun that comes with spending time with great friends and family.
Chris and I would like to wish you all a joyous Christmas, prosperous New Year and most of all, much happiness and good health.
Slainte mhath,
Joanne
